NEW SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE PLAN SUBMITTAL
Note: Plans submitted are subject to current building codes.
If submitting plans via paper please be aware that we will need-
Two (2) complete sets of plans. Plans shall be of sufficient detail to allow construction without any further
information being required from the designer. Plans shall be drawn to an acceptable, approved, architectural scale,
dimensioned and consisting of the but not limited to the following:
2 Architectural sets, 2 Foundation, 2 Soils, 2 REScheck, 2 Plot Plans, 2 Manual J & D, 1 Routing
One set surrendered to contractor as a job site set. The other to remain at the department for 1 year for records retention.
Plans submitted via the plan portal will still need to meet the same requirements below however will be downloadable from the contractor portal once approved.

Site Plan:
- NO LARGER THAN 11X17
- Must contain legal description & Pueblo County Parcel (Schedule) Number.
- Show plot of land with all dimensions, streets, roads, and rights-of-way.
- Show site of all structures on property with dimensions from all property lines.

Title Block:
- Should be first page. Shall include address of job, owners name.

Engineered Footing and Foundation Plans:
- Shall require original Colorado Engineer's or Architect's stamp.

When a Colorado Architect or Engineer stamp is required, it must be an original seal and signature dated and must appear on
each sheet of design drawings and all other documents submitted. Copies are not acceptable.

- Shall require original Colorado Engineer's or Architect's stamp.

Drawings to include:

Floor plan shall include room usage and location and sizes of all openings. This will include but not
be limited to windows, doors, vents, stairs, crawl space access, etc.

Elevation drawings four (4) views of structure(s) shall include but not be limited to dimensions,
grade levels, windows, doors, guardrails, steps, stairs, basement lines, decks, patio covers, and
porches. The elevation drawing shall also include identification of exterior materials.

Building wall section through the structure(s) shall include framing details, floors, decking, basement
walls, insulation, U-factors, R-Values, and foundation. A typical wall section shall note all pertinent
information from foundation to the roof.

Miscellaneous details such as special conditions, narrow wall bracing, etc. detailed drawings of those
conditions are required on plans.

Energy Calculations:
- Prescriptive per chapter 11 of the 2021 IRC. Pueblo prescriptive Insulation, Window and Door requirements for new construction
- UA alternative per the 2021 IRC/REScheck Software www.energycodes.gov/rescheck
- Performance per section 405 of the 2021 IECC
- Section 401.3 Certificate I.E.C.C.
- A permanent certificate shall be posted on or in the electrical distribution panel.

It shall list predominant R-values of insulation installed in or on ceiling/roof, walls, foundation, and
ducts outside conditioned spaces

List the types and efficiencies of heating, cooling, and service water heating equipment.

Required Project Approval Sheet/Routing:

This form is issued by the Pueblo Regional Building Department and needs to be approved and
signed off by the required agencies.

If the list requires an approval for permit or certificate of occupancy and the agency states that it is
not required, the form is required to state such and be signed by the agency.

Mechanical plan review requirements (Manual J&D):
- Must include the Ventilation Worksheet.
- Drawings shall provide an HVAC layout with equipment locations
- Air distribution ductwork and sizes
- Air intake and exhaust locations
- Gas and refrigeration piping layout including gas meter location
- Fan and pump type location
- Control diagram indicating type of HVAC control specific to the equipment being controlled

Water heater system layout with equipment locations, gas and water piping diagram and water
heater information.
In schedules
-
List heating and cooling equipment capacity, types, sizes and efficiency, fan horsepower, and airflow
capacity as well as outside air volume.
- Duct insulation R-values, pipe insulation thickness and k-values (thermal conductivity per inch).
